Pre-Conference: Budget and Finance Workshop

In place of the standalone Annual Budget Conference, the Local Government Division’s Budget and Finance Bureau (BFB) is hosting a dedicated Budget Pre-Conference ahead of the New Mexico Infrastructure Finance Conference (NMIFC). This session brings the same in-depth budgeting training municipalities, counties, and special districts have relied on for years, now paired with the state’s premier infrastructure and finance gathering.
Topics will include budget certification requirements, interim and final budget preparation, Budget Adjustment Requests (BARs), chart of accounts standards, and PARS system guidance for local government finance officers. Attendees will also get an early look at what’s ahead for LGBMS 2.0, so make sure to bring your questions. This session is especially valuable for budget officers, finance directors, and clerks responsible for their entity’s annual budget submission and ongoing compliance with DFA requirements.
